I am pleased to publish the information about the Mahatma Gandhi Veterinary College Bharatpur. That in the year 2003 in a meeting of Smt. Urmila Devi Mahgaiya Paropkari Trust a need was felt to open a veterinary college to cater the needs of local farmers and dairy owners. The trust approached the Govt, of Rajasthan for necessary permission to open the college. The permission was granted vide letter no. 213/P/PA/2003 dated 24-05-2003 and the college was started in the academic year 2005-06. The college is located in the heart of Bharatpur City on 30 acres of band adjacent to National Highway 21 (Agra-Jaipur Highway), near Keoledeo Bird Sanctuary (Ghana). The city is well connected to different parts of country by Rail & Road and is surrounded by Agra and Mathura District (U.P.). Only 180 km. from jaipur airport.
The aim and objective of the college is to train the student admitted in the college to infuse scientific skills in handling and managing the live stock / pets / Lab and Zoo animals on scientific lines and attempt to improve the production in animals using all the scientific knowledge in the field of genetics, nutrition, treatment and preventive measures and to extend this scientific knowledge to the farmers entrepreneurs through extension programmes conducted by MGVC in the area through the quality veterinary graduates produced in the college.
I, appreciate the efforts of the Dean, Faculty members and supporting staff of the college for their valuable efforts in making the excellent efforts towards achieving the aim of making quality veterinary Graduates.
